- Chosen by Voters Insurance follows your vehicle. It does not matter who is driving. They don't have to be listed on your policy. If he was at fault and any liability needs to be paid out, your insurance company may try later to get money from him or his insurance company; but this does not impact you or your claim in anyway. All he needs to know is that you gave a friend permission to drive your vehicle.
